Cairo Prepares to Host the Arab Social Governments Awards Ceremony, and Seven Countries Compete for Titles This Year.
The Egyptian capital, Cairo, is preparing to host the Social Governments Awards Ceremony at the Intercontinental City Stars Hotel on the evening of next Wednesday, January 31. This session witnesses a strong competition between seven Arab countries: Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Morocco, in various categories of the competition.
Competitors participate in four main categories, namely government digital content, social media platforms and applications, and prominent government figures in this field. In addition, special awards related to the impact of institutions on society on social media platforms will be granted, which increases the fame and appreciation of this event.
In a statement by the Director General of the Institute, Engineer Ahmed Sabry, he confirmed that more than 30 government agencies are competing in its first session to win the awards. Effective competition is evident in the health sectors, and then the communications, information technology and financial sectors. The competition also includes more than 50 prominent government figures competing for the “Personalities” award, which reflects the remarkable technological development in the performance of government communication and service delivery through digital platforms.
Social Governments is a modern model of government administration, as it combines the concepts of participatory governments, transparent open governments and smart governments. This model is in line with the increasing use of social media networks in the Arab world, which contributes to achieving direct and effective communication between the citizen and the government.
The Social Governments Awards, launched by the Social Governments Institute, is an initiative that seeks to highlight the distinguished work in the field of government communication through social media platforms in the Arab world. The award focuses on recognizing government agencies that have succeeded in developing their communication with a high level of interaction, participation, and transparency through social media channels.
Finally, the Social Governments Institute, which is a leading institution in providing a range of diverse services targeting government sector institutions in the field of social governments, confirms that the launch of the award aims to make the citizen an effective, interactive, planning and thinking partner with his state, in order to create a better future for Arab countries using modern communication methods.
